Dhaka is an ancient city. The town planning, housing, gardening, architecture and
overall lifestyle was influenced by the Mughals. But now a days, it is appearing
as over-crowded due to inadequate space in relation to population. Dhaka is a
densely populated city with apartments building filling the skyline everyday. The
noise level is rising and the circulation is becoming a subject of great concern.
Lack of appropriate construction rules and unplanned urbanization, the city is
gradually transforming into a concrete jungle. Yet to increase the interaction
between people and nature in a building, roof, veranda, terrace, living space etc
are used as breathing space. As beauty in architecture rests largely on the
harmony between the building and nature.
